Here is a neat pair of signed Antique sewer tile / sewer pipe pottery deer. Both are signed by different makers but made in the same mold. Both are likely made in Ohio. Found in Ohio. The one has a white face while the other is marked Bambi on the front. 1930s or 1940s. The movie for Bambi came out in 1942 so the one is likely after that movie but doesn’t seem any newer than late 1940s. Nice pair of Ohio ceramics.
White Face One: Very rare to see the white ceramic mixed with the other pottery. I guess they mixed in some insulator or other type of ceramic into the piece. The rest looks like the typical sewer tile. Its signed on the base KL. It also has a collection number of B6 which is hard to read. Its the 6th numbered piece in the Jack Batdorff collection which was sold at Garth’s years ago.
Neat piece from an important collection of sewer tile.
A hair over 9 and 1/4 inches tall. See soda can for scale.
Condition for White Face: Nice condition. Crazing to the white face but thats from the firing / manufacturing process and not damage after it was made. Does have some small chips along the base. No repairs. All original. No chipping to the ears. Two of the base chips are really on the bottom of the pice and one is one the side of the base. See photos and video.
