Antique Patriotic Painted Rye Reed Basket Circa 1920

For sale is a neat antique reed or rye straw basket. American. Found in New York state. Not sure where it was found before that though. Great antique original paint. Dates to around 1900-1920. Could be a world war 1 or 1926 paint job. Basket might be late 1800s too. A great folk art paint job. Paint is old with a good surface.

Basket is 12 and 3/4 inches wide. About 4 inches tall. See can for scale.

Condition: Basket is tight. No breaks or repairs to the basket. Paint is all old and original. No touch ups or repaints. Surface is dry. Attic crackling to the paint (alligatoring). Has some wear. One edge is really worn down. A few of the weaving rings are broken on the top edge, especially where the paint is worn down and bare wood. Still the basket is very tight. Does not flex. Very sturdy.
