Antique Hooked Rug Lions Tropical 1940s Federalsburg Md Folk Art Signed
$345.00
is a neat hooked rug featuring two lions and some plants. Good size and condition. Great colors. Usually when you see this pattern is a very muted country drab colors. This one features wonderful tropical colors.
Signed MBH who was Mary Baxter Holt (1915-2005) from Federalsburg Maryland. This rug dates to around 1937-1945.
I got this from her estate auction on Maryland’s Eastern Shore around 2006. I had this on display for years in my apartment. Displays well. Neat to know not only who made it but where it is from.
Roughly 5 feet long by just over 2 and half feet tall.
Likely to have a few stray dog hairs from me putting it on the floor for photos.
Condition:Â Great condition. No stains. No fraying. No repairs. No major loose parts. If there is a loose part its very small and not noticeable. Great colors. Not faded. See photos and video to determine condition.
